I understand CK2 and 3 I get that they are fun trying to keep your bloodline going usually in a conniving deceitful way. I sort of get Victoria 2 in that its empire building/becoming a developed nation. And Hearts of Iron 4 is easy to get - WW2 obviously. But EU4 - I have never understood what the hell I am supposed to be doing in it lol. I keep trying it and getting nowhere, I keep failing to
1 Flavor events. 1.1 Mary Takes Control of the Kingdom. 2 Mission events. 2.1 The Feast of the Pheasant. 2.2 The Feast of the Pheasant - Burgundian version. 2.3 The Feast of the Pheasant - Ottomans version. 2.4 Lothair's Legacy. 2.5 The Court of [Root.Monarch.GetName] 2.6 The League of the Public Weal.
Because the at the start date, Hungary and Poland have no rulers, and a truce with the Ottomans, because of the king of Hungary and Poland died in battle on that day, ending the war. If they set the date after then, the conditions would have to change, and doing it before then would require awkward historical events to occur almost immediately.
The scenario is still only til 1821, after that the game just goes on and on with all unique flavor gone. Yeah, you can play past 1821, there just won't be any special events of any kind and all the trade goods will eventually default to their base value when their modifier events end. That's about it.

Once these are all changed to option=no save the file. Open your game and play past the crash date. Save the game and go back to the folder. Save the edited file somewhere incase you need to use it again for a crashed game and put the original messagetypes_custom from your desktop back into the folder.

It was last verified for version 1.35. We have lost control over the north. The peasant warlord Li Zicheng has consolidated a large host of rebels and bandits under his command and seized control of an alarmingly large portion of the Empire. Li has declared himself Emperor and laid claim to the Mandate of Heaven.
This new patch adds a "continue" button once you get to the End Game screen that allows you to keep playing for as long as you want. Such a feature makes this mod somewhat unneeded so I am considering adding to this mod to add a little more detail to the 1820 - 1836 future; such as some extra tech levels and maybe some more relevant events for
Gameplay. Europa Universalis lets the player take control of one of seven European nations (others are available in different scenarios) from 1492 to 1801, expanding its power through military might, diplomacy, and colonial wealth. The game takes place on a two-dimensional map divided into 3,633 provinces, and proceeds in a pausable real time

Successfully taking the Mandate gives its holder permanent claims on all of the China super-region, cores on provinces Beijing, Nanjing and Canton, the Celestial Empire special government, and unlocks the mandate and meritocracy mechanics. In addition, the EoC gets 2 unique CBs: “ Force tributary state ” and “ Unify China ”.
The first four scenarios are set during the same date, and each scenario description is simply meant to add flavor to specific areas of the world. Players are also free to chose any date in the historical period covered as their own launching point for a game. Game history [edit | edit source] 2013-08-13 - Europa Universalis IV released
bK- Jun 23, 2014 @ 6:30am. @Zaubermaus The game without any mods runs from 1444-1821. After you hit 1821 the score screen comes up with a recap of the game. So to answer our question you cannot continue that save. On the other hand you could install mods that can extend the timeline to a later date as suggested by Killer of Gems & Anvalus.
